PREPARATION

Every Personae session begins with a pre-shoot consultation. This is where we shape the concept together. We’ll discuss wardrobe ideas, styling direction, mood references, and any creative elements you’d like to explore. Whether it’s a quick video call or an exchange of ideas over email or text, the goal is to design a portrait that feels distinct and personal to you.

The session can be as minimal or as imaginative as you’d like. Some clients arrive with a clear alter ego or visual theme, while others discover it along the way. I’ll help guide that process so you feel both grounded and inspired before the shoot.

My studio is located in East Harlem, where you’ll be welcomed into a creative space designed for play, experimentation, and transformation.

HAIR & MAKEUP

For Personae portraits, professional hair and makeup are highly recommended—they elevate the mood, sharpen the visual language, and help you feel fully immersed in your character or concept. I work with trusted artists who understand the lighting and styling of the session, ensuring that your look translates beautifully in front of the camera.

Of course, you’re also welcome to arrive styled in your own way. Just know that many of the portraits featured in the Personae series were created with the help of professional artists who specialize in this type of image-making.

THE SHOOT

On shoot day, we typically begin around 10AM. Plan to spend about 2.5 to 3 hours in the studio. We’ll start by reviewing your wardrobe selections, refining the concept, and getting you into hair and makeup (if booked).

Once the shoot begins, I’ll guide you through every pose and gesture, down to the subtlest details—from your hands and expression to your posture and gaze. You don’t need to know how to perform or pose; that’s part of my job. The session is relaxed and collaborative—an opportunity to try something different, be bold, and see yourself in a new light.

Together, we’ll create portraits inspired by classic painting, dramatic lighting, and symbolic styling—images that are visually striking and worthy of being printed, framed, and remembered.

CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE IMAGES

After your session, I’ll carefully select 20–30 of the most compelling images and apply my signature retouching. About 7–10 days later, we’ll meet for a private reveal and selection session—either in person or online.

This is where you’ll see your portraits for the first time and choose your favorites for print, digital use, or both.

There’s no pressure, no hard sell—just a memorable experience and imagery you’ll want to live with. Because Personae isn’t just about how you look—it’s about how you want to be seen.

Each Personae session is a bespoke experience, focusing on a single, thoughtfully crafted look to ensure every detail—from wardrobe to lighting—harmonizes to tell your unique story. All packages include:

Most clients choose the Signature Collection, which includes Professional Hair & Makeup. Some clients invest $600, others $6,000—what you choose to take home is entirely up to you.

This package is perfect for those who enjoy crafting their own look or experimenting with self-styling. Whether you’re building your Personae from pieces you already own or curating a concept on a budget, you’ll still receive expert guidance during the planning phase and full creative support during the session itself.

With a clear concept, thoughtful preparation, and professional photography, you can create something truly unique—on your own terms.

💄 Signature Personae – $1,200

A balanced blend of professional styling and personal expression.

Most clients are able to create their own Personae look by combining pieces they already own, sourcing a few special items, or purchasing a costume that aligns with their vision. During your pre-shoot consultation, we’ll review your concept together, discuss wardrobe options, and refine the look so you feel confident and excited walking into your session.

This package is ideal for creatives and expressive individuals who want a polished, stylized portrait while enjoying the freedom of designing their own character or alter ego.

👗 Deluxe Personae – $2,400

A fully immersive, high-touch experience where every detail is curated for you.

Professional Hair & Makeup: Full styling to complement your chosen concept.
Custom Wardrobe Styling: Collaborate with a dedicated costume stylist to design or source the perfect look.
Print Credit: $400 toward any print products.

For those who want to go all-in on transformation, this package includes the creative support of a professional costume stylist. Whether you envision something avant-garde, theatrical, period-inspired, or abstract, your stylist will help bring your concept to life with carefully sourced pieces, accessories, and styling details that elevate the entire portrait experience.

With hair, makeup, and wardrobe fully taken care of, you’ll be able to focus entirely on the experience—stepping into your character with full creative freedom and confidence.

This is the ultimate Personae session for clients who want their portrait to feel like a production: refined, expressive, and unforgettable.
